  • 20 small pretzels round or mini twists work well
  • 20 whole pecan halves
  • 20 caramel candies soft
  • 1 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
  • Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Baking Sheet:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the pretzels in a single layer, evenly spaced.

Add Caramel and Pecans:

  • Place one caramel candy on top of each pretzel.

  • Put the baking sheet in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 3-4 minutes, or until the caramels have softened (but not fully melted).

Add the Pecan Halves:

  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Gently press a pecan half into each softened caramel to spread it across the pretzel. Allow it to cool for a few minutes.

Melt the Chocolate:

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

Add Chocolate Drizzle:

  • Spoon a small amount of melted chocolate onto each pecan turtle, covering the caramel and pecan partially or fully (as preferred).
  • Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt for extra flavor (optional).

Cool and Set:

  • Let the turtles sit at room temperature or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

Storage: Store the turtles in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Chocolate Choices: For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate, or for added sweetness, try milk chocolate.
Optional Add-Ins: For a holiday twist, add a sprinkle of crushed candy cane on top of the chocolate before it sets.
