Classic Margherita Pizza Recipe
Classic Neapolitan pizza with a crispy crust, topped with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves.

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups water warm
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups fresh mozzarella sliced

- Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.1 1/2 cups water, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 packet active dry yeast
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- Divide the dough into two portions. Roll out each portion on a floured surface to form a pizza base.
- Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the base, then top with slices of fresh mozzarella.2 cups fresh mozzarella, 1 cup tomato sauce
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the crust is crispy and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
