Ingredients
 
 

  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 1 cup cabbage finely chopped
  • ¼ cup green onions finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 pack dumpling wrappers
  • Water for sealing dumplings
  • Oil for frying, if desired

Instructions
 

Prepare the filling:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and white pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  • Assemble the dumplings:
  • Place a dumpling wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and press to seal. You can pleat the edges for a decorative finish.

Cook the dumplings:

  • To steam: Arrange the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Steam for about 10 minutes until the filling is cooked through.
  • To fry: Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the dumplings and cook until the bottoms are golden brown. Add a splash of water, cover the pan, and steam for an additional 5 minutes.

Notes
