Authentic Steamed Chicken Rice Recipe
Tender steamed chicken served with fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth, accompanied by a spicy chili sauce and ginger-garlic paste.

Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken about 1.5 kg
- 4 cups water
- 4 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 cups jasmine rice
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Chili Sauce:
- 4 red chilies chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
Ginger-Garlic Paste:
- 2 tablespoons ginger minced
- 2 tablespoons garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water, ginger slices, and garlic cloves to a boil. Add the whole chicken and simmer for 30-35 minutes until cooked through.1 whole chicken, 4 cups water, 4 slices ginger, 2 cloves garlic, Salt to taste
- Remove the chicken and plunge it into ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, cut into serving pieces and drizzle with sesame oil.1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Rinse the jasmine rice and cook it in the rice cooker using the chicken broth instead of water.2 cups jasmine rice
