Well-Done Steak with Ketchup – Classic American Comfort

Ingredients
- 10 ounces Ribeye steak 1-inch thick, or New York strip steak
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder optional
- 1 teaspoon Vegetable oil or butter
- ¼ cup Ketchup for serving
Instructions
Prepare and Season the Steak:
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if desired.10 ounces Ribeye steak, 1/2 teaspoon Salt, 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon Garlic powder
Cook the Steak:
- Heat oil or butter in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot.1 teaspoon Vegetable oil
- Place the steak in the skillet, pressing it down for an even sear.
- Cook the steak for 6-7 minutes on the first side until a dark crust forms.
- Flip and cook the other side for an additional 6-7 minutes or until the steak reaches 160°F (71°C) for well-done.
Serve:
- Transfer the steak to a plate, let it rest for a few minutes, then serve with ketchup in a small bowl on the side.1/4 cup Ketchup
Notes
Alternative Sauces: Substitute ketchup with steak sauce or BBQ sauce if desired.
