Renée’s Bold English Breakfast Tea
Equipment
- Tea kettle or pot
- Teapot (optional)
- Tea strainer or infuser
- Teacup or mug
Ingredients
- 1 tea bag English Breakfast tea bag or loose-leaf English Breakfast tea
- 8 oz water just off the boil
- splash Milk about 1-2 tablespoons, optional but recommended by Renée
Instructions
Boil the Water:
- Heat the water in a kettle until it just reaches a boil, then let it sit for a few seconds to settle.8 oz water
Prepare the Tea:
- If using loose leaf: Place 1 heaping teaspoon of loose-leaf English Breakfast tea in a teapot or infuser.1 tea bag
- If using a tea bag: Place the tea bag directly in the mug.
Brew the Tea:
- Pour the hot water over the tea, allowing it to steep for 4-5 minutes. For an exceptionally strong brew, leave it for an additional minute.
Strain and Serve:
- If using loose leaf: Strain the tea into a cup after steeping.
- If using a tea bag: Simply remove the tea bag.
Add Milk (optional):
- Pour a small splash of milk into the tea, enough to lighten it without diluting the strength. Stir gently.splash Milk
Enjoy:
- Serve immediately and savor the bold, almost “illegally strong” flavor.
Notes
Milk Options: Whole milk offers the richest taste, but oat or almond milk can be used for a dairy-free version.
No Sugar Needed: This tea is enjoyed with no sugar, embracing the natural boldness of the leaves.
